The Gate

I can't believe I haven't uploaded this yet. I was so proud of it.

I don't usually work in watercolor but when I got into Life Drawing it was my favorite medium to work with (mostly because I hated working in charcoal lol).

This is of my best friend Kelsey. I consider her like my sister because we've known each other since we were 2.

This painting of her was an assignment for my Life Drawing class where we had to incorporate the technique and style of 3 particular artists (whose names escape me). My interpretation was like pastel colored pop art. I wasn't exactly spot on but I got to incorporate my own style in a way.

In order to paint this, I asked Kelsey to do a few poses in her beautiful backyard and I took several photos of her that I would choose from later to paint.

It was all good fun. :]
